Puppy grooming in Dubai

Get the first groom right and every groom after it is easier

A puppy's first grooming experience shapes how it behaves at every groom afterwards. We take that seriously. First sessions are short, gentle, and deliberately uneventful.

  • From AED 170, with no call-out fee
  • Short first sessions, no rushing, no forcing
  • We stop early rather than push a frightened puppy
  • After the full vaccination course, usually when the puppy is 12 to 16 weeks old
Starting from
AED 170

Final price depends on size and coat condition. Confirmed on WhatsApp before we book you in, never after we arrive.

What a first puppy groom involves

Far less than you might expect, and that is the point. We let the puppy explore the van. We put it on the table and take it off again. We turn the clippers on near it without using them. We run the dryer on low. We do nails, a gentle wash and a light tidy. Then we stop.

A puppy that leaves thinking "that was boring" is a complete success. A puppy that leaves looking beautiful but frightened is a failure that you will pay for at every groom for the next decade.

Start nails, ears and paws while they are still small

Paws, ears, tail and face are the four places adult dogs most often refuse to have touched. Handle them calmly and often in the first year and the problem never develops. We work on all four in every puppy session, whether the puppy needs it or not.

Puppy grooming you can practise at home

Touch your puppy's paws, ears, tail and face for a few seconds each, every day, then give a treat. Thirty seconds a day in total. It makes more difference than anything we do in the van.

Puppy grooming questions

How old should a puppy be before its first groom?

Usually around 12 to 16 weeks, and only after the full course of vaccinations is complete. Before that, the risk of picking something up outweighs the benefit.

What happens in a first groom?

Deliberately not very much. We introduce the van, the table, the sound of the clippers and the dryer, do a gentle wash, nails and a light tidy, and stop. The point is that your puppy learns grooming is boring and safe, not that it comes out looking perfect.

Why does the first groom matter so much?

Because dogs remember it. A puppy that is rushed, held down or frightened at 14 weeks can fight grooming for the rest of its life. A puppy that has three or four calm, uneventful sessions early on will usually stand quietly for grooming forever. Nothing else you do will make your dog as easy to look after.

How much does a puppy groom cost?

From AED 170, the same as our Basic Groom. There is no call-out fee.

How often should a puppy be groomed?

Every four to six weeks in the first year, even if the coat does not really need it. You are training the habit, not cutting the hair.
